2011 Goals – Week 5 Update
Written on February 6th, 2011 by KC O'Connor
Overall, I’m making good progress on my 2011 goals. A line by line recap follows.
Fitness
Lower my body fat percentage from 32% to under 20% by July, 2011 and to under 12% by December 15th, 2011. – I’m sitting at 248 lbs & 29.6%.
Walk, bike, run, or swim 20 miles a week. I’ve accrued 58 miles, where I should be at 100 miles. Need to focus more effort here.
Follow the slow-carb diet. I’ve been following the slow-carb diet 5 1/2 days a week.

2011 Goals – Week 3 Update
Written on January 23rd, 2011 by KC O'Connor
I hit 250 this week, then celebrated a little. My goal is to weigh in next Friday at 245, and enjoy my birthday cake.
In order to meet this goal, i’m going to
- hit the treadmill on Monday and Wednesday mornings for at least 3 miles each day
- hit the bike on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for at least 6 miles each day
- stick to my meal plan, with no cheating
- drink lots of water, at least a gallon a day
2011 Goals Update – Week 2 1/2
Written on January 19th, 2011 by KC O'Connor
Another solid week, and a half. Down from 261 to 251 this morning. Cutting down on the snacking must have helped. I also got two days working from home due to the snow, putting 5 miles on the bike each day at lunch.
I’ve completed ten modules so far for the Force.com Developer 401 training. I’m making progress, but not as fast as I like.
I’m waiting for a part to be fabricated at Sierra Industries for the Robertson STOL. With the new paint, it will be like flying a new plane.
I’ve made great progress on the new theme for this website, and plan on putting it up over the next few days.
2011 Goals – Week 1 Update
Written on January 9th, 2011 by KC O'Connor
I did pretty well on my fitness goals this week following the slow carb diet, resulting in weight loss from 266 lbs to 261 lbs today. The hardest part is remembering to bring my lunch to work, and not snacking on junk after 10 PM.
I put in 2 miles on the treadmill on Friday and again on Saturday, and 4 miles on the elliptical bike today, for 8 miles total. I need to get on the bike more in the morning during the week in order to meet my 20 miles per week goal.
I also got a start on my professional goal this week, completing 4 modules of the Force.com Developer Training available on iTunes. Next week is going to be busy at work, but I am scheduling time so I can complete 3 modules.
As for my flying goals, I spoke with Mike at J&M Aviation. My Cherokee has been stripped down, but the Robertson STOL kit needs some attention. Since the repaint has taken a little longer than expected, J&M is going to complete the annual inspection as well.
Finally, I’ve started on re-working the theme and gallery for the website, but it may take a few more days to put it in place.

2010 was a bad year for this blog. I did not update it once.
For 2011, I’ve set personal, fitness, flying, financial, and professional goals. Improving this website, and this blog is one of those goals. Here are the rest of them.
