Hi, my name is KC O’Connor.  I write the entries and take most of the pictures on this site to share with my family, friends, and colleagues.

Personal Bio

I earned my pilot’s license in May 2008.  In July 2008, I purchased a 1969 Piper Cherokee 235, N8546N.  I have started on my instrument rating.

I also volunteer with the Westchester Putnam Baseball Association.  I have been the Webmaster since 2003, and also serve on the organization’s Board of Directors.  Previously, I was a baseball umpire working with the Western Connecticut Umpire Association and the Patterson Little League.

Each summer, I co-host Camp O’Connor, where friends and family gather around the pool, hang out in the hot tub, or watch over the grill waiting for the hamburgers and hotdogs.

Professional Bio

I am an Enterprise Architect at GE Capital where I work on projects to increase productivity, portfolio performance, and growth.

I am a “hands-on” architect, getting involved in all aspects of the project, from the strategic planning to the tactical execution. Over the last four years, I have delivered on Service Oriented Architecture initiatives, identifying, developing, and implementing services with total benefits exceeding six million dollars.

As a Project Lead, Tech Lead, and Developer, I have partnered, communicated, and negotiated with business leaders in Finance, Marketing, Underwriting, Risk, and Operations.  I have developed applications with Microsoft .NET or Java/J2EE technologies following each application through multiple iterations of enhancements and production support.  I have excelled in the Business Intelligence, Application Development, and Enterprise Architecture teams by researching and recommending viable alternatives to solve complex problems, often with simple, cost-effective solutions.

I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University at Albany in Business Administration with concentrations in Management Information Systems and Marketing.  I also completed GE’s Information Management Leadership Program, completing Six Sigma training and certification.
